the son of Mayra Hernandez and Luis Renato Yniesta. Diego was born on July 1, 2010 in San
Diego, CA, and passed away on September 10, 2025. He is survived by his parents and 7
siblings. His presence in our lives was a gift. He was a loving son, brother, grandson, and a
friend to all who knew him. Diego’s kindness, sense of humor, and caring nature made him a
bright light in the lives of his family and friends.
Diego cherished those around him so deeply, he was such a good friend anyone could count on
him. His beautiful soul brought joy, laughter, and warmth to everyone around him. Though his
time with us was brief, the love he gave and the memories he created will last forever.
Diego loved to play video games, go to the gym, and had a great passion for soccer ever since
a little child. He grew this passion for soccer through his dad who eventually even became a
coach and created a team with Diego and his brother. This year, Diego also became dedicated
to learning how to play the guitar in which he picked up really fast. He found joy in learning new
songs, and expressing himself through the melodies. Some of the songs that Diego enjoyed
performing in front of us were Cha Cha Cha by Josean Log, San Lucas by Kevin Kaarl, and
Cigarette Daydreams by Cage the Elephant.
Another one of Diego’s greatest joys was traveling with his family. Whether it was visiting new
places, learning the different cultures, and trying new foods, he never took these moments for
granted and it meant everything to him. He also shared an incredible bond with his pets, finding
comfort and companionship in their presence.
Diego’s memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved him, and his light will continue to
guide us. 1 Thessalonians 4:17 NIV, “After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up
together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord
forever.”
