Edward was born in Palmer, Iowa on October 10,1921 to Henry and Lena Johnson, and was one of nine children. Edward grew up on a farm and came to California pre-WW2 to support the aerospace industry before serving in the Navy during the war. After forty two years with General Dynamics Convair he retired and continued to support his wife running their family owned pre-school in Chula Vista.
He is predeceased by his beloved wife of sixty two years, Christine Venegas Johnson. He is survived by his four children Dennis Johnson, Anita (John) Williams, James (Susan) Johnson and Richard (Melissa) Johnson. Edward was also the proud “Tata” of nine grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren. He will be dearly missed by all who loved him.
Edward will be most remembered for his Midwestern upbringing, devotion to country, and above all, his deep love of family.
