

Esteban Vasquez Castro passed away peacefully on May 24, 2025, at the age of 81. Born in Gualterio, Zacatecas, Mexico, Esteban spent his early years in his hometown before immigrating to San Diego, California.
A devoted husband, father, and grandfather, Esteban and his beloved wife, Maria, raised three children together. He worked tirelessly throughout his life to support his family, instilling in them the values of faith, perseverance, and compassion.
In his retirement, Esteban found joy in serving his community and his church. He sang at daily Masses at Our Lady of Mount Carmel and was an active member of the De Colores Cursillistas. His generosity and deep faith led him to minister to incarcerated young men and gathering donations to feed the deported and homeless immigrants.
Esteban was preceded in death by his loving wife Maria, his father Trinidad Vasquez, his mother Regina Nunez, and his brother Victor.
He is survived by his three children: Maria Elena (m . to Juan), Francisco Javier and Veronica (m. to Christopher); his grandchildren: Berenice, Jordan, Kassandra, Brittany, Isabel, Imani, Francisco Javier, John Michael, and Ileana Sky; and his great-grandchildren: Amelia, Cataleya, Mariposa, and Jack.
Esteban also leaves behind his nine siblings: Porfirio, Dolores, Elvira, Julio, Mariano, Tano, Elena, Consuelo, and Ricardo.
Esteban’s legacy is one of unwavering faith, dedication to family, and humble service to others. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all whose lives he touched.
