

FORBIS, FAYE ELLEN. Faye Ellen Forbis passed away peacefully on March 2, 2010 at the age of 76. Faye was born and raised in Columbia, Missouri. In 1953, Faye represented Columbia as its first goodwill ambassador under the auspices of Experminent in International Living, and spent the summer with a family in Madrid. She subsequently studied in Monterrey, Mexico, and then completed her degree at the University of Missouri School of Journalism. She then served as the Public Relations Director at the Washington University School of Medicine, where she met her husband, the late Dr. Robert Forbis Jr. Faye was an avid movie buff, voracious reader, and world traveler. She was active in the Women's University Club, ZLAC Rowing Club, as well as several book clubs, PTAs, and medical auxiliaries. She is survived by her four children: Robert (and his wife Lisa), Steve (and his wife Jackie), Andrew, and Paula (and her husband Ralph Martinez), and three grandchildren: James and Linda Forbis, and Sophia Martinez. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, March 7th at 1:00 p.m. at The Little Chapel of the Roses, Glen Abbey Memorial Park, 3838 Bonita Road, Bonita. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the ASPCA (www.aspca.org), the Mission Aviation Fellowship (www.maf.org) or the San Diego Rescue Mission (www.sdrescue.org).
