Feliciano M. Salinas was a modest man, quiet and observant in his ways. He was trustworthy and traditional in his approach to his life and in his relationships. He was tough-minded with the kind of “stick to it” attitude that earned the respect of all who knew him. He was also a man who was meticulous, carefully disciplined, and orderly in virtually everything he undertook. Realistic about life, he was always at the ready, prepared to take on responsibility.
Feliciano was born on June 9, 1927 in Malasiqui, Pangasinan, Philippines. He was the son of Mauro B. Salinas and Apolonia Macaraeg.
On July 28, 1955 Feliciano exchanged wedding vows with his sweetheart Veronica Bermillo. Empathic and loyal, Feliciano was committed to making his new family happy.
Feliciano worked hard to be a good father to his children and he did his best to fulfill their needs. Feliciano and Veronica were blessed with five children, Samson, Teofilo, Jimmy, Feliciano Jr., and Nancy. They were also blessed with seven grandchildren.
Fortunately, Feliciano enjoyed what he did for a living. Showing a strong work ethic, Feliciano worked diligently and did his best to succeed in his career. His primary occupation was serving in The United States Navy. He was employed for 20 years by the Navy and 21 years by the federal government. Through his hard work, he achieved the rank of E-8. His fellow sailors viewed him as a brother in arms and knew that he was as much a part of their family as their loved ones back home. Feliciano always sought to be a team player, doing what was necessary in order to get the job done.
Sadly, Feliciano passed away on August 2, 2010 in the comfort of his home in San Diego, California. Feliciano fought a brave battle against cancer. He is survived by his wife, Veronica; children, Samson, Teofilo, Jimmy, Feliciano Jr., and Nancy; as well as his seven grandchildren. Services were held at Saint Charles Catholic Church. Feliciano was laid to rest in Glen Abbey Memorial Park in Bonita, California.
Simply stated, Feliciano was a good and kind person, an individual who will for all time be remembered by his family and friends as being a caring and giving person, someone who was a vital part of their lives. Feliciano leaves behind him a legacy of life-long friendships and many cherished memories. Everyone whose life he touched will always remember Feliciano M. Salinas
