Everyone’s life is the sum total of all of the people they have met, the things they have done, the places they have gone. Gregorio G. Parayno was no exception. He was a loved one, a friend, and someone special. To family and friends who knew him best, Gregorio will be remembered as a very exceptional person.
Gregorio’s life journey began on November 28th, 1930. He first greeted the world in Orion, Bataan, Philippines. His parents' names were Corazon G. Parayno and Arsenio R. Parayno. He grew up in Orion, Bataan, Philippines and was raised with eight siblings.
Gregorio had five brothers, Ben, Miguel, Rogelio, Kiko and Ray, and three sisters, Nieves, Cely and Marina. Gregorio was usually involved in all sorts of activities with his siblings and they shared many life experiences over the years.
Gregorio was a typical teenager who had a fairly happy high school experience, making that critical transition from adolescence to adulthood. He graduated from GRI High School and headed off to college. Gregorio enjoyed his college years, attending MAPWA Institute of Technology in pursuit of a career as an electrical engineer. Like in high school, college was more than just going to classes and learning. Education went beyond the classroom.

Gregorio served in the United States Navy for twenty years as an electrician. Gregorio achieved the final rank of Chief (E-7). He earned several awards recognizing him for his accomplishments, including a National Defense Service Medal, five Good Conduct Medals and a Bronze Star. His fellow soldiers viewed him as a brother in arms and knew that he was as much a part of their family as their loved ones back home.
Fortunately, Gregorio enjoyed what he did for a living. Showing a strong work ethic, Gregorio worked for thirteen years at NASSCO after the Navy. Gregorio always sought to be a team player, doing what was necessary in order to get the job done.
A person's hobbies often mirror who they have become. Gregorio enjoyed his leisure time by taking part in a number of different activities, including Reading, watching boxing and westerns, gardening and playing solitaire. He was usually willing to share his interests with others.
Like all people, Gregorio had his favorite things in life but his biggest accomplishment was his great love for his family. He made many sacrifices to give his family his best. Gregorio was truly a wonderful blessing from above, and how he lived his life was a gift to all.
