

Herman D. Samson was born on October 21, 1929 in Concepcion, Tarlac, Philippines. He was the son of Pio Samson and Basilia Dizon. Herman was raised with eight siblings, Catalina, Hilario, Pedro, Gregorio, Maria, Diosdado, Martin and Aurora.
On January 6, 1954 Herman exchanged wedding vows with the love of his life Consuelo Jimenez in Lopez, Quezon, Philippines. Fortunately, Herman and Consuelo were blessed with eight children named Merrylyn, Pio, Ruperto, Edna, Hermina, Lauro, Virginia and Virgilio. Herman worked hard to be a good father to his children and he did his best to fulfill their needs.
Showing a strong work ethic, Herman worked diligently and did his best to support his growing family. He was employed by the 26th BCT Philippine Constabulary from 1950-1959. He was a driver for La Mallorca Bus Company from 1960-1963. He was also a businessman who worked in a refrigeration shop, barber shop and tailoring shop from 1964-1978. From 1979-1990 he was an employee for the Clark Air Base. He then chose to work from home from 1991-1993 and was later an employee for Viejas Casino from 1994 until he finally retired in 2004.
Sadly, Herman passed away on January 24, 2011 in San Diego, California due to severe pulmonary hypertension and cardiac arrest. He is survived by his wife, children and many other family members and friends. Services were held at The Little Chapel of the Roses on February 7, 2011. Herman was laid to rest in Glen Abbey Memorial Park in Bonita, California.
Simply stated, Herman was a good, kind and hard working person, an individual who will for all time be remembered by his family and friends as being a caring and giving person. Herman leaves behind him a legacy of life-long friendships and many cherished memories. Everyone whose life he touched will always remember Herman D. Samson.
