

Hospicia Espano Pacardo Gobaton was born on May 21, 1932 in Nabua Camarines Sur, Philippines. She grew up in that area and shared many of her life experiences growing up with her brother Catalino, sister Luisa, sister Margarita and brother Magno.
She graduated from Nabua High School Class of 1951-1952 and went on to the School of Cosmetology in Iriga Camarines Sur. She graduated in 1958.
Hospicia married Edmundo Regalado Gobaton on January 17, 1960 in the Nabua Catholic Church in Nabua Camarines Sur. Together they raised 7 children: Rose (daughter), Heda (daughter), Jane (daughter), Norvie (daughter), Edmundo Jr. (son), John (son), and Pearl (daughter).
Over time, her family has grown to include 13 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
Hospicia ws a Valedictorian of Couture and Cosmetology, she also received a blue ribbon award for her hand-crafted lumpia and won many accolades for her original dress designs.
She worked at Bonita Alterations as a seamstress, she was a sewing teacher, a beautician and was self-employed for many years.
During her free time, Hospicia enjoyed sewing, gardening, making banana fritters, pili nut candy, lumpia, visiting Barona and orchid farming -she grew her own!
Some of Hospicia's greatest accomplishments were raising 7 children, managing her business (restaurant and sewing) and passing her naturalization exam for U.S. citizenship.
Hospicia passed away on January 25, 2014 surrounded by her family in her home in San Diego, California. She is survived by her husband, Edmundo Regalado Gobaton, daughter Rose Brock and granddaughter Allison, daughter Heda Flake and son-in-law Leonard, granddaughter Danielle and grandson Lyndon, daughter Jane Menke, granddaughter Sharina and grandson Jordan, daughter Norvie Payton and son-in-law Jerry, grandson JC, granddaughter-in-law Edith, great-grandsons JC, Jr. and Michael, son Edmundo Jr, daughter-in-law Maria, granddaughter Arianna, granddaughter Gabriella and granddaughter Sabrina, son John, grandson Dylan, granddaughter Catelin and grandson Jonathan, daughter Pearl, son-in-law Greg and grandson Makaio. She was preceded by her daughter-in-law Analiza Gobaton.
