

was raised in Mexico with eight siblings. They were Lucha, Manolo, Cleman, Carmen, Paco, Uje, Tere and Tela.
Ignacio graduated from high school in 1941. He later attended college where he earned his Associates degree in English from the University of Mexico City.
On September 14, 1944 Ignacio exchanged wedding vows with his sweetheart Lillie Romero in San Bernadino, California. Empathic and loyal, Ignacio was committed to making his new family happy. Ignacio and Lillie were blessed with six children, Lily, Carmen, Susan, Grace, Mary and Nacho. Ignacio worked hard to be a good father to his children and did his best to fulfill their needs.
Fortunately, Ignacio enjoyed what he did for a living. Showing a strong work ethic, Ignacio worked diligently and did his best to succeed in his career. His primary occupation was in carpentry. He was employed for 32 years as a cabinet maker and worked for 15 years at Southern Pacific.
Ignacio accomplished much throughout his lifetime including helping at his children's schools and building Christmas sets for his church. He worked with many different organizations. But most of all, his grandest accomplishment was his family, which always came first.
Sadly, Ignacio passed away on October 7, 2010 at Montavista Village due to natural causes. He is survived by his children Lily, Carmen, Susan, Grace, Mary and Nacho; five sons in law; seventeen grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and three of his sisters. Services were held at The Little Chapel of the Roses on October 15, 2010. Ignacio was laid to rest in Glen Abbey Memorial Park in Bonita, California.
Simply stated, Ignacio was a good and kind person, an individual who will for all time be remembered by his family and friends as being a caring and giving person, someone who was a vital part of their lives. Ignacio leaves behind him a legacy of life-long friendships and many cherished memories. Everyone whose life he touched will always remember Ignacio Ornelas.
