Janice Diane Ray

Janice Diane Kelly Ray, was born on August24, 1937, in Saint Louis, Missouri to

George and Pearl Kelly. She was the middle child of three siblings. Janice grew up

in Saint Louis, along with her older sister; Sylvia Kelly Gamage. She attended

Sumner High School where she graduated in June, 1955.

Soon after graduation, Janice met and married James Dupree and to that union a

son named James was born. Janice relocated to San Diego, California, upon her

father's request.

Janice worked in the retail industry as a Union Clerk for 27 years. James Dupree,

preceded Janice in death, and she remarried Joe Ray in 1980. No children were

born of this union. This marriage was dissolved and Janice continued her work in

the retail industry until she retired in 1999.

Janice was a hard and steady worker, and strongly believed in her independence

and paying her obligations. Good credit meant the world to her and she had

excellent credit. Janice was an outgoing and friendly person. She always had

something funny and witty to say. She loved her grandchildren and always made

sure they had what they needed.

Janice leaves to mourn her son" Abdullah Muhammad" "formerly known as

James", her sister Sylvia, her brother Phillip, 4 grandchildren, 3 greatgrandchildren,

1 niece, and 2 nephews.
