Jay F. Mills

Jay Frederic Mills, 59, of Shrewbury, MA, passed away from cancer of the small intestines at home surrounded by his family on April 19, 2015. Jay is survived by his wife Estilita of 38 years, son Hilton Mills, daughter Rowena Mills, son Kris Mills, daughter Jacqui Mills, daughter-in-law Mary Mills, loving grandchildren Alyssa, Leilani, Selena, and Madison, parents Fred and Leona Mills, sister Debra Parmenter, brothers Guy and Jon Mills, and extended family. Jay was a loving father, husband, grandfather, friend, and mentor to all.

Jay retired honorably with 20 years of active duty with the U.S. Navy as a Master Chief Petty Officer Fire Control-man. Jay also worked as a union electrician for 18 years with the local union 569. He spent his last year as a foreman for Sullivan Electric until he was forced into retirement due to his illness. Jay's interests were watching NASCAR and attending a race annually at the California Speedway in Fontana, CA. He enjoyed shooting at the range. He also followed the Chargers, the Patriots, Red Sox, and Bruins.

Jay was always there to lend a helping hand with friends and family in need. Jay Mills was respected by many of his peers. He was a great leader and mentor. He was always open to ideas and suggestions by everyone regardless of their status or title.

Jay was a great provider and was always on top of things. Jay made sure his family was well taken care of and all his affairs were in order before he left this world. He fought to the very end. This world has lost another great man and Jay Mills will truly be missed.
