Jean Coking Jenkins often called "Girlie" by her close family and friends was born on June 24, 1961 in Guimba, Nueva Ecija. She was the daughter of Pablo Coking and Elena Gamboa Coking. Jean was the youngest of nine siblings named Erlinda, Rosalina, Gaudencio, Perpetua, Francisco, Paulino, Betty and Angelina.
She attended and graduated high school from Our Lady of Sacred Heart Academy and later earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Accountancy from St. Joseph's College.
On August 1, 1999 Jean exchanged wedding vows with her sweetheart Charles Jenkins, Jr. in San Diego, California.
Jean was blessed with one child, son, John Coking. Jean worked extremely hard to be a good mother to her son and did her best to fulfill his every need.
She was an achiever, a fighter, independent, organized person with a strong and positive disposition in life. She loved to travel as time, health and work would permit her. A “workaholic” by nature. Because for her, time was precious and should not be wasted. She fought with life’s struggles…and always had faith…for Jean, it is not impossible to attain your goals and dreams in life, if you work hard.
A loving wife…a loving mom….she was brave through the toughest times for her son, RJ…for whom her life revolved…
A lot of words unsaid…a lot of love to give…often misunderstood…fought for life till the end….
An epitome of a flower…a red rose that she always wanted… the rose that survived all seasons…amidst the sunshine, the wind, the rain… she stood as strong as she could…when petals started to fall beyond her control…she still tried to hold on…but as dear life comes to an end, petals flew till nothing was left…yet the memory remains… that once, it was all strong, vibrant, beautiful….bringing hope, love and smiles to everyone…able to stand the test of time.
You will always be the red rose we will forever hold dear in our hearts, Jean…
Rest now…enjoy the happiness you truly deserve…in God’s loving arms….
