

A beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother and grandmother, Leonora Jacob Manzano, 66, passed away on August 6, 2014. She was born on May 23, 1948 in Urdaneta City, Philippines, to Modesta Jacob and the late Martin Jacob.
She attended Chinese General Hospital nursing school and graduated in 1972. She first worked at San Lazaro Hospital in Manila and then moved to the United States in 1973 to continue her nursing career. It was in San Diego, CA where she met her husband Segundo Manzano. She was married for 34 years and had 3 daughters.
She retired from Scripps Memorial Hospital in 2011, after working 38 years as a Registered Nurse.
Leonora enjoyed cooking, gardening, and spending time with family. She was a faithful, generous and loving woman who had a beautiful smile that would light up the room.
As a parishioner at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, she was a devout Catholic and servant of God.
Leonora Manzano is survived by her husband, Segundo Manzano; mother, Modesta Jacob, sister, Flocerfina Bascos; 2 brothers, Martin Jacob Jr. and Reynaldo Miran; 3 daughters and their spouses, Janice Manzano and Don Luong, Ann and Nelson Wang, Sherlyn and Justin Lee; and one grandson, Rylan Jacob Luong.
Funeral services for Leonora Manzano will be held at 9:00 a.m., Saturday, August 23rd, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, National City, CA. After cremation, she will be laid to rest at Glen Abbey Mortuary.
