Liza grew up in Manila, Philippines and was raised with her brother Junji Miyazato. She had a difficult time adjusting to her new surrounding but she made the best out of it. She had a fairly happy high school experience and graduated from Arellano High School in 1971.
Liza enjoyed her college years, which may have been a challenge with all of the academics, responsibilities, and the sudden freedom that accompanied them, but Liza was able to manage the balancing act. She graduated from The Philippine Woman's University in 1977.
Liza was blessed with four wonderful children, two daughters, Paulene Garcia and Feliz Garcia, and two sons, Darryl Garcia and Randall Scott Magno. Liza worked hard to be a good mother to her children and she did her best to fulfill their needs.
After years of searching for her family, they were all brought together again in 2002. She was reunited with her mother and her siblings; brother Masaaki Miyazato, brother Steven Housnick, and sister Bernadine Housnick.
Showing a strong work ethic, Liza worked diligently and did her best to succeed in her career. Her primary occupation was working as a budget analyst.
Unfortunately, Liza passed away on March 7, 2011 in San Diego, California. Liza fought a brave battle against lung cancer. She is survived by her children Paulene Garcia, Darryl Garcia, Feliz Garcia and Randall Scott Magno. Services were held at Glen Abbey Mortuary Chapel in Bonita, California.
Simply stated, Liza was a good and kind person, an individual who will for all time be remembered by her family and friends as being a caring and giving person, a dedicated mother, a beloved sister, someone who was a vital part of their lives. Liza leaves behind her a legacy of life-long friendships and many cherished memories. Everyone whose life she touched will always remember Liza "Hiromi" Magno.
