Manuel Tamayo was born in Mexico on January 15, 1932. He passed away on April 7, 2014 peacefully with family by his side. He is survived by his wife, Encarnacion Tamayo, and his four children, Manuel and Jose Luis Tamayo, Graciela Avalos, and Irma Tamayo-Holman. He also leaves behind eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
For over 40 years, Manuel worked as a dedicated grounds keeper at various local golf courses. Retiring at 65, he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren as well as going to the race track and visiting local casinos. Another past time of his was attending to his rose gardens and his fruit trees. He looked forward to family gatherings that included birthday parties because he knew that he would be the “cocinero” for the carne asada. Christmas time was always a fun time for him because it meant the entire family would get together. He looked forward to exchanging gifts with other family members; however, his greatest joy came from watching his grandchildren opening their gifts.
Manuel was married for 58 years to his beloved wife, Encarnacion Tamayo. Both always felt that there relationship could only end “until death do us part.”
His loss is felt by all who loved him dearly. Rest in peace. We will see you soon, again.
