

Margie Beatrice Lincoln Washington, a dedicated educator, community leader, and woman of faith, passed away on March 23, 2025, in Bonita, California. She was born on December 31, 1947, in Fort Pierce, Florida. Margie attended St. Lucie County schools and graduated in 1965 from Lincoln Park Academy High School.
Her post-secondary education began at Indian River Junior College in Fort Pierce and continued in San Diego, California, where she earned her bachelor’s degree from San Diego State University and a master’s degree from Point Loma Nazarene University.
Margie spent her professional life serving in the San Diego Unified School District for thirty-five years. She held roles as a teacher, reading specialist, and elementary school administrator. Her leadership and commitment to excellence earned her numerous awards and accolades throughout her career. Margie was known for her steadfast belief in the power of education and her unwavering support for both students and staff.
Beyond her professional accomplishments, Margie was deeply involved in her community and church. A faithful member of Greater Woodlawn Park Church of God in Christ, serving as church Mother and working tirelessly with the missionary department. She served as a pillar of strength within her congregation. Margie also attended and taught Biblical Study Fellowship (BSF) classes, sharing her spiritual wisdom with others and nurturing their growth in faith.
Margie’s generous spirit extended far beyond the walls of the church. She volunteered at Birch Patrick Convalescent Center, offering comfort and companionship to residents. Her love for music found expression through singing with the Southwestern College Choir—a joyful outlet that brought harmony into both her life and the lives of those around her.
Gardening was one of Margie’s cherished pastimes; she found peace and fulfillment in nurturing life from the soil. Equally passionate about mentoring youth, she dedicated time to guiding young people with compassion and insight.
Those who knew Margie remember her as a caring soul, a devoted wife, a loving and supportive mother and grandmother, and a loyal friend. She leaves a legacy of love, spirituality, and faith.
Margie is preceded in death by her parents, Aaron and Thelma Richardson, her brother Aaron Richardson Jr., and her grandparents Levi and Henrietta Richardson. Margie leaves to mourn her husband Samuel Washington, Daughter Tabatha (Don) Robertson, Son Antwon (Sarah) Lincoln, Grandchildren: Jawann Michie, Jarell Michie, Cameron Lincoln, Benjamin Lincoln, and Samatha Lincoln; Sisters: Minister Shirley Crawford, Dr. Lenora Richardson Campbell, Henrietta (Gregory) Thomas, Catherine Richardson, Loretta Richardson, Brothers: Damon (Cecelia) Richardson and Van Richardson.
