The youngest of Felix and Leonora Guiang in a brood of 8, Marvelyn was a vibrant, intelligent and happy lady with lots of hopes and dreams. She was born Marvelyn Orque Guiang on January 18, 1961 in Pasuquin Ilocos Norte. She finished her Elementary education at the Pasuquin Central Elementary School, after which she was accepted for her Secondary education at the Ilocos Norte National High School. Lynne was a class dancer and was always participating in dance contests and programs. Despite having lost their father when Lynne was barely 5 years old, she was able to finish her Pre-Med course (BS Chemistry) at the Far eastern University in Manila. Later, she pursued her dream of becoming a medical doctor. With the help and guidance of her siblings coupled with her intelligence and determination, she finished her Doctor of Medicine degree at the Lyceum Northwestern Philippines in Dagupan, Pangasinan. She became a full-pledged Medical Doctor a year later.
She was first employed at the Yale University College of Medicine Research Department as a researcher. And with her determination and optimism, Lynne landed a most-sought after work at the Federal Prison in Florence, Colorado and was later transferred to Victorville, California. She served in the organization up until she got sick.
Lynne loved life. She loved to relax. She loved to sing. She loved to eat. She loved Hawaii. She loved Las Vegas. She adored Boracay but Ilocos was still the best for her.
She was not just an Aunt but a PROTECTOR. Not just a Sister but a COMPANION. Not just a Lover but a BESTFRIEND.
She was never a quitter. She never wavers. Her faith was pure and unblemished. Sinner as she is, GOD was her sole refuge.
In life the “End” was not important. What is important is the journey you took to reach that “End.” WELL DONE LYNNE!!!!!!
