

Michie Baxter
Born in Ishikawa City Okinawa February 10, 1936, Michie Baxter started her journey through life. Michie is one of 6 children including 3 girls and 3 boys. Her farmer parents Kama and Mathu Iha, showed her the value of hardwork and the importance of family.
Michie left Okinawa in the mid 1960’s to to start a new life in America. Shortly after her arrival she started work as a bartender in an Okinawan bar located in downtown San Diego. While working at this bar she met a young charismatic gentleman named Robert Baxter. There was such an undeniable connection that they were married soon after.
Robert and Michie’s family extended in 1975 when their nieces Emiko, Linda, and Elisa came to live in their home. The family was complete once the family pets Shero and Kristie joined.
Michie was involed in many Okinawan clubs including Okinawa Kenjin Kai and an Okinawan dance club. She also bowled in several bowling leagues.
Michie always took care of her family especially Robert, the love of her life and her soul mate. She was everyone’s friend and always wanted everyone to be happy. She loved animals, bingo, Laughlin, Viejas, The Big Bang Theory, but most of all she loved her family. There will never be anyone like her and she will be missed everyday.
