Nancy was a very creative, independent woman. She was very talented and painted watercolors, crocheted, knitted, sewed, and made various items out of wood and stained glass. In her later years, she created a painted-rock village with a town store, shops and homes and entered the display at the Del Mar Fair.
She shared many of her gifts with the people she knew and could always be counted on to help out when needed.
She loved all fury animals, but had a special place in her heart for bunnies. She built a rabbit hutch, which housed 4 rabbits with automatic feeders, and a roof that lifted up for easy access.
Nancy is survived by her two children, Mary Elizabeth Brandt and Sean Michael Fain. Along with two grandchildren, Madeline Grace and Molly Katherine Fain.
She was also “mom” to many friends of Mary and Sean’s. Many others called her “Mom” or “Nana” – you all know who you are.
She loved to cook dinner and often sent leftovers home with guests.
She was also know for her baking talents and was often called upon to bake one of famous cakes and sweet treats, such as “Pumpkin Stuff”, Snicker Doodle Cake, Lemon Cake or Strawberry Angel Food Cake.
A memorial service will be held at Glen Abbey Funeral Home on May 21, 2016 at 4:00pm with a reception following at a private home.
