

Perla Pulido Abad, 79, passed away at Sharp Grossmont Hospital in San Diego, CA on Saturday, August 24, 2024. Perla was born in Rosario, Cavite Philippines on July 30, 1945, to the late Moises Reaño and Emilia Pulido.
After receiving a degree in education from St. Joseph’s College in Cavite City, Perla was an elementary school teacher before moving to San Diego, CA in 1979. She worked for Cipher Data Products followed by Argen Precious Metals for a combined 37 years as a dedicated factory employee. After retiring in 2016, she enjoyed traveling, being with family and friends, fishing, cooking, and bargain shopping. She will be remembered for her kindness, generosity, friendship, Filipino culinary offerings, and her knack for scoring impressive discounts.
Perla is survived by her loving husband of 53 years Redentor Abad; eldest son Roderick Abad and daughter-in-law Ngoc Lam Abad; son Rommel Abad and daughter-in-law Kate Harrigan Abad and their children, grandson Ryland Abad and granddaughter Cassidy Abad.
A mass will be held at St. Rita’s Church on September 5 at 10 AM. Her ashes will be buried at Glen Abbey Memorial Park and Mortuary on September 11 at 1:30 PM. A reception in honor of Perla’s memory will be at the Buffet House in Chula Vista at 3 PM after the funeral service.
