

August 3, 1941 – July 11, 2025
Pete Manaois Aquino was born on August 3, 1941, in the Philippines to Rufino Aquino and Bonifacia (Manaois) Aquino. A devoted husband, father, and grandfather, Pete lived a life marked by love, service, and quiet strength.
He married the love of his life, Imelda Ocuaman, also of the Philippines, and together they built a beautiful life centered around family. They were blessed with two sons, Almin and Edwin.
Pete served honorably in the United States Navy, achieving the rank of Chief Petty Officer. His naval career spanned 26 years, during which he demonstrated unwavering dedication and commitment to his country.
After retiring, Pete enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, most especially ballroom dance and gardening a passion he tended to with care and joy.
Above all, Pete treasured his family. He is survived by his beloved wife, Imelda; his sister, Elina; his brothers, Lou and Salvador; his sons and daughters-in-law, Almin and Emmeline, Edwin and Remelie; and his cherished granddaughters, Alexa and Aubrianna, who brought immense light to his life."
His legacy lives on in the family he so dearly loved and in the many lives he touched along the way.
Services to honor Pete’s life will be held as follows:
Visitation: Monday, July 28, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM in the Magnolia Room at Glen Abbey Mortuary, 3838 Bonita Road, Bonita, CA 91902.
Funeral Mass: Tuesday, July 29, 2025, at 10:00 AM at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, 2643 Homedale Street, Chula Vista, CA 92139.
Military Honors and Committal Service: Wednesday, July 30, 2025, at 11:15 AM at Miramar National Cemetery, 5795 Nobel Drive, San Diego, CA 92122.
Pete’s memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
