Quiruben M. Mora, Sr. was born on April 7, 1934 in Sta Cruz, Zambales. There were 14 siblings in their family. 7 girls and 7 boys.
At a young age, his first job was working as an underwater diver for a dredging company named Pomeroy in the Philippines. Later, found a job at the Navy Exchange where he worked for 28 years and retired as Manager. When he came to the United States he continued his service with the Navy Exchange here in San Diego for another 10 years working in the cafeteria and took a part time job at the Marriott Hotel and Admiral Kidd club until he retired. He was a very hardworking father that provided for his family.
The simplest pleasures in life brought great joy to our dad. He loved cooking, gardening, watching Filipino action shows and spending time with the family. His pleasant personality was contagious to everyone he met. He is loved by everyone in our family and friends.
He and our mother were married for 69 years and had a total of 5 siblings. Rudy, George, Janet, Charlie, and John. 13 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
Our dad passed away on February 24, 2023 at the age of 88 years old, after a courageous battle with Cancer. He was surrounded by all his love ones who will continue to honor his legacy by living their lives to the fullest.
We will surely miss you dad, the greatest father, husband, brother, grandfather and friend who ever lived. Until we meet again.
