

Reynaldo Bugarin Marbello, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away on September 3, 2025, at UCSD Medical Center, at the age of 95. He was born in Boac in Marinduque Province, Philippines to Fidel Marbello and Potenciana (Bugarin) Marbello on December 25, 1929.
Reynaldo (“Rey”) attended Boac Elementary School, and continued onto Marinduque High School, where he graduated in 1949. He attended Far Eastern University in Manila, Philippines, where he graduated on December 21, 1952, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Commerce. Rey was immediately hired upon graduation by the Central Bank of the Philippines, where he worked until he joined the military.
In 1954, Rey enlisted in the U.S. Navy. He honorably served for 21 years, attaining the rank of Storekeeper, Chief Petty Officer (SKC E-7). He retired on April 30, 1976, from Naval Air Station, North Island (NAS-NI), in Coronado, CA. As a civilian, Rey continued dutiful service at NAS-NI, ultimately retiring from federal civil service after 22 years.
Rey was married to his beloved wife, Segundita (“Dita”) Ignacio Marbello for 58 years. They wed on January 11, 1967, at St. Jude Catholic Church in Manila, Philippines.
Rey is predeceased by his parents, siblings, and his dear son, Rey Vincent, who just passed away on June 18, 2025. Rey is survived by his loving wife, Dita, and their two daughters, Carmela (with her husband, Rodney), and May (with her husband, Daniel), and Rey Vincent’s widow, Kim. Rey is survived by his grandchildren: (from Carmela and Rodney) Zachary, Carlin, Megan, and Dylan; (from Rey Vincent and Kim) Quentin, and Ethan; and (from May and Daniel) Gunner. Rey’s precious great-granddaughter, Eloise, also survives him.
Visitation for Reynaldo Marbello will be on September 29, 2025, at Glen Abbey’s Chapel of the Roses in Bonita, CA from 5:00 pm - 9:00 pm. Funeral services will be on September 30, 2025, at 1:00 pm, at St Charles Catholic Church in Imperial Beach, CA. The committal ceremony will commence at 2:30 pm at Glen Abbey. A reception will follow at St Charles Parish Hall.
