Rodolfo “Rudy” Dominguez, of San Diego, California passed away on Friday September 2, 2022 at 80 years old. Rudy was born on February 22, 1942 in Chihuahua Mexico, the eldest son to Ventura and Manuela Dominguez.
Rudy arrived in Tijuana, MX in 1955 where he met the love of his life, Rosalia, with whom he went on to marry in April 1965. From that marriage came three children, five grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren who were the light of his life.
Rudy worked at Rohr Industries for 30 years from 1973 to 2004 in various departments, holding different positions and ending his career in Building 1 as a Stock Dispatcher. Rudy was a hard worker who showed up every day, on time, and with a smile on his face, waving to co-workers to the point where he would become affectionally known by many as “The President.” He was so well known around San Diego, that there wasn’t a place he would go where he didn’t run into someone he knew.
Rudy built the life he always dreamed of and provided the structure for his children and grandchildren to continue his success. Always a giving man, no one ever went without when in his company.
After retirement he enjoyed walks at Rohr Park, kept in touch with countless friends, and traveled with his wife and family. Rudy kept the faith by eating, sleeping, and breathing baseball, never missing a game of his beloved Padres, cheering them on season after season since 1969. His love for the San Diego Padres will never be forgotten.
“In life, we loved you dearly, in death we love you still. In our hearts you hold a place, no one else will ever fill.”
