

Sherman Jude Johnson III was born on June 13th, 1979 in New Orleans, Louisiana. He spent his childhood in Mississippi, New Orleans, and Zachary. He attended Zachary High School and after graduation he joined the United States Navy where he served for 8 years. He also obtained his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration. In his final active duty station – San Diego, he worked at Balboa Hospital and later studied to become a Cardiovascular Technologist where he then took his talents to Sharp Grossmont Hospital and later Sharp Chula Vista Medical Center or “Sharp Chula” as he called it.
Sherman loved his family immensely and he also loved his job and the work that he did. Inspired by his sister Nicole, he went into the CVT field and created everlasting relationships with so many of his colleagues.
Sherman was a lover of life. He was unique in that he loved to learn and loved knowledge. He had the most infectious personality and his positive attitude was always on display. One of his favorite hobbies was to watch the sunrise and the sunset. He woke up most mornings at 4am to read, drink his coffee and reflect on the upcoming day.
He is survived by his wife Tria Johnson; his children Savanah, Leilani, & Bryson; Mother, Lillian Williams; Father Leroy Williams Jr. (Janie); Sisters Erica Kinchen, Nicole Johnson; Brother Leroy Williams III; and Grandparents Leroy & Shirley Williams; along with a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and in-laws.
Preceding him in death was his paternal father, Sherman J. Johnson Jr., and his grandmothers, Joycelyn Johnson & Apostle Mary Jackson Trask.
Sherman loved fiercely and displayed a courage and positivity that will be hard to duplicate. He was “Sherman Strong”.
