

Sherri was a vibrant, brave and beautiful soul, born on December 2, 1964, in Corydon, Indiana to Joyce and Robert Hoke. As a child she was inquisitive with an insatiable thirst for knowledge. Sherri would often be found reading the encyclopedia, dictionary or any books she could find.
While she was in high school she studied as an exchange student in Mexico, becoming fluent in Spanish - a time and skill that would stay with her through life, shaping her career.
As she progressed in education, Sherri was passionate about her studies, graduating valedictorian of South Central High school in 1983. She went on to Indiana University where she majored in Biochemistry and Spanish.
In 1993, she began work for UPS as a logistics management coordinator, working her way up to account executive in trade direct sales. In 1994 she moved to San Diego, California. In 2005 she started working for PETCO as a corporate transportation manager. With the experience she gained at UPS and PETCO she was propelled to found her own logistics company called AmeriMex International Distribution. She single handedly built it into a multi-million dollar company and enjoyed many years of success.
In 2008, Sherri was diagnosed with Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia and fought a lengthy and trying but courageous battle. Through it all she always found the strength to laugh and find joy in every situation. She was joined during her battle by her parents, Joyce and Robert Hoke, who stayed by her side until the end.
Sherri was an animal lover and enjoyed every moment with her feline children, Ally and Victoria. She was fun loving, vivacious and could light up any room. Anyone who had the pleasure of knowing Sherri can recall a funny story or moment when she touched their life. She lived a full life, and truly was one of a kind.
She is survived by her parents and 3 sisters. Robin Lynn Nunez, Suzanne Gaye Spears and Kimberly Renee Hoke, as well as her nieces and nephews Amanda Evins, Brittney Nee, Jonathan Nunez, Bobby Ruck, Joshua Spears and Michael Spears.
A celebration of her life will be held at Glen Abbey Memorial Park and Mortuary,
3838 Bonita Road, Bonita, California 91902, on Saturday, September 26th, 2015. A viewing will be held at 3pm followed by a service at 5pm.
