

Born on January 24,1932 in Taytay Rizal, Philippines. Teodulo (Ted) was the first born of 12 children to Apolonio Garcia and Ellen Guadalupe Garcia.
Ted grew up in the Philippines during the WWII occupation. His family endured many hardships including their first home being burnt down during the encounter between American liberating forces and Japanese soldiers.
After the war, Ted graduated high school in 1949 at Far Eastern University. He then attended one year at Letran College and then transferred to San Beda College where he received his BCS (Bachelors in Commercial Science) in 1954.
In October 1955, Ted joined the US Navy. While stationed in Philadelphia, Ted met Eleanor McDowell, and they were married in Wilmington Delaware in 1961. After transferring to Guam, Vicky and Edward were born. After many deployments and transfers, the Garcias finally settled in San Diego, where their third child Vesta was born.
Ted spent his Navy career as a musician, playing trumpet while stationed at NTC. He was a very talented musician and played with many bands before and after retirement. Ted retired from the Navy in 1976 and then worked at North Island Naval Air Base until his retirement in 1991.
Ted spent his retirement years pursuing his passions including photography, playing trumpet in various bands, singing in the church choir, and joining the Freemasons while enjoying spending time with his family and friends. He was very active for many years until the age of 89, when age started to get the best of him. He spent his last years residing with daughter Vicky and family. Family was the most important thing to Ted as he peacefully departed this world the way he wanted it, at home with family.
Ted is survived by daughters, Vicky and Vesta; Grandchildren Katherine, Zayne, and Carolyn: Sisters, Alicia, Gilda, and Rowena; Brothers, Rodolfo, Ebenezer, and Rolando. Ted is preceded in death by Son, Edward; Brothers, Rogelio and Reynaldo; Sister, Amelia, and Parents Apolonio and Ellen
He will be laid to rest alongside his son Edward. Ted was loved by many and will be missed.
