As a native San Diegan, Timothy had a deep love for the ocean, sunshine, The Chargers, and the wonder that is the World famous San Diego Zoo. Timothy enjoyed a good Sci-Fi flick, surfing the web, and enduring the shenanigans of his loving sisters. Timothy was an animal lover and enjoyed his time with his many pets over the years. Timothy was blessed by the ability to communicate with the outside world through the utilization of his computer. He enjoyed playing computer games, using social media, finding a funny YouTube video, and watching stand-up comedy. Through the progression of his disorder which led to increased physical limitations, Timothy’s resourcefulness allowed him to find ways to continue to pursue his interests and hobbies.
Timothy was diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy at the age of 3 1/2 years. His family was informed that he would not survive to see his teen years. Through the grace of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, Timothy’s fierce tenacity, the endless love and support of his family and friends, and the excellent care of his mother and nursing staff, Timothy lived to see his 34th birthday.
Timothy’s life was one of daily struggle and hardships, yet he never wavered in his faith. His family’s hope and prayer is that the story of Timothy’s life will permeate through the lives of those who knew him to a wider audience, so that his life will be an example for all to have: courage in the face of trials, strength in the moments of weakness, and faith in times of doubt.
“His lord said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant: you have been faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord’”.
Matthew 25:23
