There’s many fond memories but everyone will agree with me when I say that Kuya Vic was always a loving, caring man especially when it comes to the family. He always welcomed us all into his home… always making sure that there’s food to eat & extra food to baon (take home). He made the best bbq ever! The most delicious filipino dishes.    If it’s not feasting at home, it was at the Barona buffet. He would invite us, tell us the time to be there & we we’re definitely there.  Kuya Vic… you will truly be missed. Rest in eternal peace & love 🙏🏽🤍🕊

Remember living across from him in Norfolk, Virginia and all the bowling nights we spent together. I had the higher average and he tried to show me how to put a curve in the straight ball I threw. I kept arguing that if his way was better, why was my score higher?  Our families spent a lot of time together back then, Vic could always be counted on as being the life of the party.  Lost contact off and on as we both traveled in the Navy. Finally meeting back up in San Diego, California.

I will never forget the memories that you made us feel we are relatives and we're part of your family. You always reached out to us everytime you spent your vacation in Saysain. Thanks to you and ate Laura.  We truly appreciate that, kuya. Your kind heart and positive aura will never be forgotten. 

I felt saddened thinking that there will be no surprise visit from you anymore. But, I know you're in more peaceful, pain free place now.

May our Almighty God grant eternal rest unto you, my kuya Vic.

I saw him last 20 years ago when we visited in your house in Chula Vista with my late husband Ato and my youngest daughter Eunice. That was our first trip to US and to visit him was included in our itinerary. He was so happy to see us , we slept in your house for a night and so many stories transpired. He was a good cook, a happy person no dull moments with him. As times go by we talked on the phone many times and our topic is how to help sa mga kababayan natin of which he was noted for. Sobrang matulungin and always kinukumusta nya sila Inang at Tatay. My daughters here knows him and called him Tito.
Vic you will always be remembered 💖 by our family as a very good friend and as a relative.

Our meeting in Barcelona,where we came late, I saw Kuya Vic,sitting on the bench in front of your hotel,he didn't see me coming towards him,and just stood right in front of him . He looked at me for a few minutes,then said,Ated,it's you,it's really you,and gave me a big hug. On your London trip,he was so happy to see the Abbey Road pedestrian crossing featured in the Beatles album in the 70s.We had a drink,and a drawing of the family tree,with all the details how we are related,not just an "ated" but cousins.We used to have a long chat,and always made laugh. In our last conversation he said we have to go this river with a natural spring water. Our chats always end up with I love you Ated, and I love you too.

I have many fond memories which I will always carry with me about my beloved uncle. He touched many lives with his loving kindness and generosity which even to this day I am very thankful for. He had many wonderful  gifts. He loved to entertain and amuse everyone he met with his great sense of humor, funny stories, and endless jokes.  He was also fearless, adventurous, and wasn’t afraid to take risks.

I will cherish and treasure my uncle and the legacy he left behind in my heart forever. 

Vic, I will never forget all the fun memories when we were growing up in Saysain. Then there was a long pause until we meet again in Barrio Barretto. May you r soul find eternal rest.  You are now an angel in heaven as you have touched the lives of many people in our hometown. Your legacy will remain in the hearts of those people. Goodbye my friend...


Kuya Vic was one of the most unforgettable characters I had the privileged to meet. He was gentle, loving and compassionate human being who was always true and loyal to his roots. I grew up with him in Saysain. I remembered that he would gather all of us little kids and give us haircuts, we call “gupit bao “. He would also organize a boxing match between  the little ones. Helped put on a boxing gloves and summoned to fight. Of course, a lot of us would cry 😢 especially when we lost the fight and get hurt, But he was always quick to offer emotional support and soothing words , telling us that boys don’t cry. That boys are supposed to be strong and tough. In the 1980’s when  he found out that my ship was on a visit and  docked in 32nd Naval base San Diego, he invited me to spend the weekend at their house ( back then they live in a Navy housing in Munda Rd. )  And he took me to Tijuana and watched the dog race I think he called Caliente. 
       One time I got a text message from him, inviting me and my wife Nona ( they both work for the Post Office) and asked me to have a Lobster dinner buffet at Barona Casino. He told me that he wants to treat  
and share his casino privileges to all his friends, especially to his relatives. 
      Kuya Vic was small in nature but he had the biggest personality and the biggest heart . Doesn’t matter if you’re rich or poor, he’ll talk to you and treat you the same, fair and square. But this I’m sure I know. His heart always goes and belongs to the poorest of the poor. He truly was one of the the kind and the best amongst us. There will never be anyone as kind, giving, loving, magnetic and down to earth as him  He truly was larger than life and I am so blessed and honored and privileged to have met and known this incredibly amazing person I proudly called my Kuya Vic. 

Kuya Vic was such a caring, loving cousin of ours. Back in San Diego, I remember that every morning after he gets off from work, he will stop by our house and will have breakfast with us and he will fall asleep in the couch afterwards.  He was really close to my mother.  Rest in Heavenly Peace, we love you dearly and will miss you Kuya.

Where ever you are you always remain in all our heart, a man with a generous, kind, loving heart. Strict  but full of jokes and some funniest story of all the persons that surround him from his younger days up to the present. Tough but sensitive, we will surely miss you Uncle Vic , we love you, may your soul  rest in peace. God loves you. ( For God so loved the world , that he gave his only son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. -John 3:16

I wish we had more time together. I will always value  the the times we did have. I will miss you.

He is a natural cook. His BBQ is the best, he can prepare the BBQ pork in skewers and ready to grill in an hour. No one can replicate his recipe no matter how many times he will show the ingredients. 

He loves to treat his family and friends to a buffet meal at the Barona Casino. 

Vic was stationed in Virginia and he always wanted to be with us, his family, all the times.
