Wilfredo C. Garcia

He was the 6th child of Rogelio Montoya Garcia and Iluminada Patinga Garcia. He has 4 brothers: Danilo, Mario, Reynaldo and Rogelio Jr. and 3 sisters: Solita, Luz, and Corazon. He has 8 nieces and 6 nephews from his siblings.

Willy finished high school at Infant Jesus Academy in Silang, Cavite and attended college at Technological University of the Philippines where he completed Marine Engineering in 1981.

He met Vanjelyn Amodente Garcia in 1993 before he moved to the United States in 1996. In 1997, he returned to the Philippines to fulfill his promise to marry her. They got married on October 8, 1997 at Nuestra Senora de Candelaria, Silang, Cavite. They were blessed with three kids: Wilfred Vrandel A. Garcia, William Vince A. Garcia and Wilbert Vinson A. Garcia.

Willy worked at Express Inc. as a machine operator for 13 years. He was a very loyal and hardworking person.

Willy was very humble and God fearing person. He took care of the whole family, from grocery shopping to driving each family member to where they needed to go. He was involved with the kids. He took the kids to all their activities and bought them what they wanted to eat. He loved to take trips out of town when the kids were on break from school.

He was an avid fan of Pokemon Go. He enjoyed collecting rare Pokemon. Every evening he walked to the duck pond just to catch Pokemon. He enjoyed driving his son to band competitions because at the same time he can catch Pokemon.

Willy passed away on June 2nd, 2017 due to a heart attack in San Diego at the age of 54. He is survived by Vanjelyn Garcia (wife) and his children. He leaves many other family members and friends to cherish his memory.

Services for Wilfredo C. Garcia are handled by Glen Abbey Mortuary. A visitation will be held on Saturday, June 10, 2017 and Sunday, June 11, 2017 in the Mortuary Chapel at Glen Abbey Memorial Park in Bonita, California. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, 2643 Homedale St, San Diego, CA 92139 on Monday, June 12, 2017 at 10:00 a.m.

Wilfredo will be laid to rest in Glen Abbey Memorial Park in Bonita, California on Monday, June 12, 2017.
