

Billy Walden Smith, 85, of Booneville entered his eternal home on Thursday, July 18, 2013 at the Landmark Nursing and Rehab in Booneville. He was born August 18, 1927 to Ora Eunice Walden Smith and Earl Ray Smith. He married Virginia Holley Smith on September 23, 1945 and she preceded him in death on September 10, 1983. He was a retired farmer and a member of East Booneville Baptist Church. He enjoyed southern gospel music, Northeast Mississippi Community and Prentiss County Basketball, and spending time with his family and friends.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm Sunday, July 21, 2013 at McMillan Funeral Home with Rev. Russell Clouse and Rev. Rickey Kelley officiating. Burial will be in Little Brown Cemetery.
He is survived by his two daughters, Beverly (Jerry) Johnson of Ward, AR and Amanda Smith Downs of Booneville; two granddaughters, Holly (Drew) Shull of Westfield, IN and Brooke (Jeff) Lindsey of Marietta; five great grandchildren, Dalton Pounds, Dallas Pounds, Matthew Shull, Noah Shull, and Madelyn Lindsey; three sisters, Mary Lynn (Bernell) Smith, Bettie Raye Akers, and Janie Gale (Russell) Clouse all of Booneville; one brother, Mackie Don (Rhonda) Smith of Booneville; one sister-in-law, Nell Holley Brown of Sikeston, MO; one brother-in-law, Mitchell Holley of Memphis, TN; and a host of nieces and nephews.
I addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his step-mother, Delta White Smith; four brothers-in-law, Freddie Akers, Myres Holley, Stanley Holley, and Jessie Brown; three sisters-in-law, Saundra Pounds Smith, Betty McCoy Holley, and Betty Bullard Holley; one nephew, Stephen Akers; and a special aunt and uncle, Ruby Smith Claunch and Finis Claunch.
Pallbearers will be: Sterling Akers, Marc Smith, Carter Smith, Haden Holley, Wayne Holley, and Bobby Holley.
Special Honorary Pallbearers are his great-grandsons: Dalton and Dallas Pounds, Matthew and Noah Shull.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the staff of the Landmark Community, Landmark Nursing and Rehab and two special caregivers, Betty Rowan and Linda Maxwell.
Visitation will be 5-8pm on Saturday and until service time on Sunday at the funeral home.
