Daniel Dean Newman

Daniel Dean “Dan” Newman, 70, died Tuesday, November 15, 2011, at Elisa Coffee Memorial Hospital in Florence, AL. He was born April 11, 1941, to John Raymond and Lola Florence Jordan Newman. He enjoyed building things, his dogs, and watching westerns.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 P.M. Thursday, November 17, 2011, at the McMillan Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Randal Parker officiating. Burial will be in Crossroads Cemetery.

He is survived by his wife Gertie Walthers Newman; four daughters, Ruth Ann (Ralph) Busby of Paint Rock, AL, Dana (Tommy) Hill, Dona (Brian) Gray and Jan (Rodney) Livingston, all of Moulton, AL; two sons, Daniel Wayne (Cathy) Newman of Elkmont, AL and Monroe Newman of Ardmore, AL; two step-daughters, Teresa Brock of Ripley and Donna Gail (Lester) Hargett of Jumpertown; one step-son, David (Shelia) Marley of Jumpertown; three sisters, Rachel Parker, Joyce Davis and Margret Tarpley; one brother, James Newman; 24 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Jenniffer Lynn Newman; his parents; four sisters; and two brothers.

Pallbearers will be his grandsons.
