Dora Jean Vassar

Dora Jean Vassar, 90, passed away August 18, 2019, at Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo. She was born May 10, 1929, to W.O. and Mattie Pearl Whitaker. She was a member of Booneville First United Pentecostal Church.

A celebration of life service will be 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, August 20, 2019, at McMillan Funeral Home with Bro. Jonathan Soden officiating. Burial will be in Henry Cemetery.

She is survived by one son, Matthew (Meda) Vassar; one daughter, Trena Vassar (Ricky) Null; her twin sister, Maxine Fulks; four grandchildren, Jessica (Matt) Quinn, Allison (Shane) Weathers, Jason (Kaitlyn) Vassar and Haley Vassar; and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband John W. Vassar, Jr.; her parents; and two brothers, Therman Whitaker and J.R. Whitaker.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Sanctuary Hospice House, P.O. Box 2177, Tupelo, MS 38803.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 12:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
