Dorothy Ilene Carpenter, 89, died Wednesday, May 6, 2015, at Tishomingo Manor in Iuka. She was born December 14, 1925, to Samuel and Leah Hudson. She was a stenographer and home maker. She was a member of Fairview Church of God. She enjoyed reading and studying the Bible.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 P.M. Friday, May 8, 2015 at Fairview Church of God with Rev. Marshall Tennison and Mr. Charles Tennison officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Church of God Cemetery. Services are under the direction of McMillan Funeral Home.
She is survived by one sister, Gloria (Jim) Porteous; two nieces, Gloria Louise Nelson and Betty (Kenneth) Coker; five nephews, Charles Tennison, Marshall (Lorene) Tennison, Jerry (Lenola) Tennison, Rod Porteous and Ron Porteous; and special friends, Reeder Voncannon, Kathy Johnson and Jeannie Belue.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Norvial Carpenter; her parents; and one brother, Claude Hudson.
Visitation will be Thursday from 5:00 P.M. until at the church.
