Edith Odene Miller

Edith Odene Miller, 89, passed away Monday, December 22, 2014 at Baldwyn Nursing Facility. She was born April 3, 1925 to William and Eula Phillips. She loved to piece quilts, do craft work, work crossword puzzles and help with the sick as long as she was able. Most of all she loved to read her Bible and church papers.

On July 4, 1945 Odene married Forrest Miller. Her husband passed away August 30, 1984. She united with Wheeler Primitive Baptist Church August 1957 and was a member until it closed. Later she became a member of Hopewell Primitive Baptist Church.

Funeral Service will be at 2:00 PM Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at McMillan Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Rickey Taylor and Bro. Dru Allen officiating. Burial will be in Hopewell Cemetery.

She is survived by one daughter, Edith Lambert of Baldwyn; one son, William Miller Jr. of Booneville; three grandchildren, Regina (Cary) Leathers of Booneville, Amanda (Dru) Allen of Baldwyn and Marsha Price of New Orleans; five great grandchildren, Cody and Cayson Leathers and Grady, Isaac and Leighanna Allen.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her stepfather, John Miller; one sister, Lorene Bragg; one brother, Alton Phillips and one infant sister, Mildred Phillips.

Visitation will begin at 12:00 noon Tuesday, December 23, 2014 and continue until service time.
