

Elmer Ray Walden, 81, died Sunday, May 10, 2015 at his home after an extended illness. He was born May 30, 1933, to A.P. and Alma Walden. He was a 1952 graduate of Booneville High School. Carrying on the tradition of his father, Elmer Ray owned and operated Walden Sawmill for many years. He loved fishing and being on the go.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, May 12, 2015 at McMillan Funeral Home with Mark Walden and Jim Walden officiating. Burial will be in Liberty Cemetery.
He is survived by his children, Terrye Eckersley of Olive Branch, David Ray Walden (Sheree) of Blue Springs, and Andrea Barrett (Jerry) of Booneville; grandsons, Chris Walden, John Brooks Belue (Brittney) and Ben Barrett; great-grandchildren, Emma Kate and Treston Belue; sisters-in-law, Mildred Walden and Barbara Ann Walden; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 38 years, Cathryn Ann Walden; his parents; a grandson, Deric Murphy; brothers, Bill Walden, Leonard Walden, William Walden, Hubert Walden, Leland Walden and Charles Walden; sisters, Hazel Whitley and Virgie Walden.
Pallbearers are Harold Wayne Jumper, Cameron Jumper, Mike Walden, Tim McCoy, Kevon Brooks and Steve Nanney.
Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. Monday at the funeral home.
