Ileene Smith Riddle

Ileene Smith Riddle, 82, passed away Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at her home surrounded by her loving family, after a brief battle with cancer. She was born October 30, 1931, to Earnest T. and Maggie Smith. After getting out of school, she was a factory worker, manager at Catos in Booneville and then onto production at ITT in Corinth, as well as a wonderful private caregiver.

She loved her entire family unconditionally, and enjoyed doing good deeds when possible. She enjoyed old country music, reading books and doing laundry. Her happy place was tackling stains in laundry and accomplishing that task often by using elbow grease and her finger nail.

A celebration of life will be at 11:00 AM Friday, July 25, 2014 at McMillan Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Glen Reeder officiating. Burial will be in the Old Mormon Cemetery.

She is survived by her Spouse, David Wayne Riddle of Booneville; two daughters, Gail Spencer of Booneville and Kay (Juan) Gonzalez of Florida; one son, Corey T. Riddle of Booneville; one stepson, Dale W. (Geraldine) Riddle of Booneville; two grandchildren, Greg (LeeJa) Cummings and Wendy Thorne McVey both of Booneville; two step-grandchildren, Michael (Melonie) Riddle and Kayla (Tripp) Tice; five great-grandchildren, Cody Cummings, Wesley Cummings, Whitney Cummings Barnes, Brooke McVey and Mallerie Staggs all of Booneville; three step-great-grandchildren, Elle and Dusti Tice and Tyler Riddle; five great-great-grandchildren, Kylie Cummings, Tate Cummings, Mayleigh Cummings, Kaden Barnes and Kolby Barnes and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Earnest and Maggie Smith; her brother, Ed Smith; her sister, Etheleene S. Kelley; and her sister-in-law, Kunicko Smith.

Pallbearers will be Tommy Gerald Taylor, Adam Moore, Jason Jackson and Doyle Taylor.

As Ileene was an enthusiastic supporter of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, TN the family suggests memorials be made to that charity in lieu of flowers.
