Jay Harlan Eckert, 60, passed away Sunday, March 13, 2016 at Baptist Memorial Hospital -North Mississippi in Oxford. He was born March 18, 1955, to Henry Joseph “Hank” and Frances Lee Eckert. He was formally employed by Longwood Community Living Center. He enjoyed NASCAR and computer games. He will be missed by his dog, Peanut.
A Celebration of Life will be at 2:00 P.M. Friday, March 18, 2016, at McMillan Funeral Home with Bro. Junior Michael officiating. Burial will be in Oaklawn Memorial Park.
He is survived by his wife, Robin Hayes Eckert; two sisters, Judith (Buddy) Wright and Janie (Mark) Gittens; and four brothers, Jim (Rita) Eckert, Jack (Char) Eckert, Jeff (Karen) Eckert and Bob Shultz.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Betty O’Leary and Shirley Fagan; two brothers, Sonny Shultz and Joe Eckert.
Visitation will be Thursday from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
