Jean Weetona Barnes, 84, passed away Monday, January 2, 2017, at Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo. She was born January 24, 1932, to Goodman and Ellie May Pannell. She was a supervisor for Prentiss Manufacturing. She enjoyed playing Rook, sewing, fishing and growing roses.
A Celebration of Life will be 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, January 4, 2017, at McMillan Funeral Home with Bro. Jackie Nix and Bro. Terry Myhand officiating. Burial will be in Little Brown Cemetery.
She is survived by her son, Wayne (Ruth) Croft of Thaxton; three grandchildren, Jerry (Jennifer) Croft of Jumpertown, Dale Croft of Thaxton and Margie Owens of Baldwyn; six great-grandchildren, Rusty (Samantha) Croft, Jessica Croft, Hunter Croft, Brittney ( Billy) Pannell, Layken Kizer and Jonathan Owens; and two-great-great-grandchildren, Zoey Croft and Brittlyn Pannell.
She was preceded in death by her husband J.C. Barnes; her parents; and her brother, Roy Wayne Pannell.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 11:00 A.M. until service time at the funeral home.
