

Leroy E. “Gene” Reeves, 89, of Booneville passed away Friday, December 6, 2013 at home. He was born August 8, 1924 to Thomas and Georgia Sharp Reeves. He was a retired mechanic, member of Fairview Baptist Church, and a US Army Veteran of WW II having received a Purple Heart.
Funeral services will be 1:00 pm Monday, December 9, 2013 at McMillan Funeral Home with Bro. Pete McCoy and Minister Tim McCarter officiating. Burial will be in the Booneville Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Ouida McCarter Reeves; two daughters, Brenda Johnson and Judy Stephens both of Booneville; two sons, Bobby (Shelia) Reeves of Booneville and Jerry (Cindy) Reeves of Corinth; eight grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; one step-daughter, Brenda Sellers of Tishomingo; one step-son, Minister Tim (Debbie) McCarter of Cleveland; one step-daughter-in-law, Rita McCarter of Booneville; six step-grandchildren; nine step-great grandchildren; and one step-great-great granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mildred Armstrong Reeves; his parents; two sisters; two brothers; son-in-law, Tommy Johnson; one great granddaughter, Molly Grace Harris; one step-son, Joe McCarter.
Grandsons will be pallbearers.
Visitation will be 5-9pm on Sunday and until service time on Monday at McMillan Funeral Home.
