Mary Frances “Mawmaw” Wallace, 86, died Sunday, December 5, 2010, at her home. She was born September 26, 1924, to Jim Nichols and Tessie Siggers Nichols McElroy. She worked for Blue Bell for 26 years, the Booneville Police Department for 30 years and the Booneville Street Department for 8 years. She was a member of Eastern Star and a Baptist. She loved her flowers, family and friends.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, December 7, 2010, at the McMillan Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Russell W. Lormand, Bro. Joe Coggins, Sam Shouse, and Bro. Shawn Meeks officiating. Burial will be in Booneville Cemetery.
She is survived by her son, Jerry (Faye) Wallace of Booneville; one sister, Midred “Bill” Brasel of Booneville; five grandchildren, Sam Shouse of Birmingham, AL, Tana (Greg) Owens if Mobile, AL, Teresa (Kevin Allen) Shouse of Booneville, Jennifer (Damon) Bivins of Cabot, AR, and Michelle (Shawn) Meeks of Prattville, AL; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Omer Wallace in 1990; one daughter, Patsy Shouse; one son-in-law, Vernon Shouse; her parents; her step-father, Walter McElroy; three brothers, Hilton Ray Nichols as an infant, Milton Clay “Bud” Nichols, and John Nichols; and a step-brother, Charlie McElroy.
Pallbearers are james Young, Garner Chaffin, Kevin Allen, Michael Rutherford, Jeremy Davis, Michael Ramey, and Bill Stevenson.
Honorary pallbearers are past and present employees of the City of Booneville and law enforcements officials.
