Naomie Newby

Naomie Newby, 91, died Monday, May 6, 2013, at Magnolia Regional Health Center in Corinth. She was born July 29, 1921, to Louis and Myrtle Cissom Swindle. She worked for Brown Shoe Company for several years. She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, May 8, 2013, at the McMillan Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Walter Downs, Bro. Jerry Kelly officiating and Bobbie Whirley delivering the eulogy. Burial will be in Lebanon Cemetery.

She is survived by two daughters-in-law, Polly Newby of Booneville and Tena Newby of Baldwyn; one son-in-law, Thelmer Saylors of Booneville; three sisters, Connie Guin, Syble (Layne) Dees, and Eunice (Jerry) Kelly, all of Booneville; one brother, Buddy Calvery of Booneville; six grandchildren, Sharon (Tim) Voyles, Kenny Ray (Becky) Saylors, Steve (Julie) Newby, Lisa (Todd) Ellis, Michael (Renee) Newby and Allen (Lorie) Newby; nine great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, Janice Saylors; three sons, Billy Newby, Donnie Ray Newby and Kenneth Newby; her father, her mother and step-father, Monroe Calvery; and one grandson, Tim Saylors.

Pallbearers will be her nephews.

Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. Tuesday and until service time on Wednesday at the funeral home.
