

Alice Pearl Yates, 105, passed away Sunday, May 15, 2016 at her home. She was born July 7, 1910, to George Truman and Hattie Ray Jackson. She was a farmer’s wife and homemaker, and a member of Jumpertown United Methodist Church. She enjoyed working in her flower and vegetable gardens, babysitting, quilting and sewing.
A Celebration of Life will be at 3:00 P.M. Tuesday, May 17, 2016, at McMillan Funeral Home with Bro. Robert McCoy and Bro. Jason Franklin officiating. Burial will be in Oaklawn Memorial Park.
She is survived by one daughter, Betty Jo Phillips of Booneville; one son, DeVon T. (Irene Laverne) Yates of Livingston, LA; nine grandchildren, Terry (Frances) Yates, Alton (Marie) Yates, Taunya (Steven) Denhalter, Susan (Danny) Holden, Tim (Donna) Yates, Mike (Vickie) Phillips, Clayton (Connie) Yates, Teresa (Jackie) Green and Karen (Eddie) Bollinger; 33 great-grandchildren; 31 great-great-grandchildren; one great-great-great-grandchild; four brothers-in-law, Franklin (Jenny) Yates, Willard Yates, Anthony (Clydene) Yates, and David “Max” Yates; one sister-in-law, Rubylene Goodnight; and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by, her husband of 77 years, Jule C. Yates; two sons, Howard Yates, Sr. and Harold Yates; her parents; seven siblings; and one grandson, Cary Yates.
Pallbearers are Terry Yates, Alton Yates, Mike Phillips, Jackie Green, Eddie Bollinger and Joey Green.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 11:00 A.M. until service time at the funeral home.
