

Ruby Vonceil Caveness Pounds, 83, of Booneville died Saturday, March 6, 2010, at the North Mississippi Medical Center. She was a born September 27, 1926, in Marietta to Ruby Lee Womack and Eddie Walker Caveness. She graduated from Booneville High School and attended MSCW. She married Kenneth Lee Pounds on June 22, 1947. After retiring from Prentiss County Health Department, she was a homemaker. She was a member of the Booneville First United Methodist Church, the Wesley Sunday School Class, and the Daughters of the American Revolution. She was a former member of the Booneville Women’s Club, Jaycettes, and the Booneville Garden Club. An avid bridge player, she enjoyed travel, her family, and her friends.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 9, 2010, at McMillan Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Phillip Box officiating. Burial will be in the Booneville Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 on Monday evening and an hour prior the service on Tuesday.
She is survived by two daughters, Phyllis Livingston (Coy) of Tupelo and Marsha Beasley (Ray) of Brandon; two grandchildren, Lee Ann Beasley of Brandon and J Beasley (Sarah) of Jackson; a great-grandson, Logan of Brandon; a brother, Robert Caveness (Lynn) of Marietta; and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, her sister Billie Caveness Barrow, and her brothers Eddie Caveness, Jr., and Gerald Caveness.
Pallbearers will be her nephews-- Dr. Vernon Barrow, Ed Caveness, Gary Caveness, Greg Caveness, Robbie Caveness, Jim Moore, Doug Moreland, and Judge Jim Pounds.
