Claire G. Cook

Born in New Bedford, MA, a daughter of the late Charles and Clara Veronica (Goulart) Tucy. She was a lifelong Cape Cod resident.

Claire and John were married at St. Margaret’s Church in 1949. After raising their children she had worked in the cafeteria at Bourne schools. She was a member of the Historical Society. Claire was an avid gardener. She enjoyed quilting, rug making, reading and writing short stories.

She is survived by her children, Laura Spencer and her husband William of Bourne, John F. Cook, Jr., and his wife Lesley, Thomas Cook and his wife Linda of Pocasset, Patricia Von Busch and her husband Michael of Maine, Michael Cook and his wife Laura of Monument Beach, Cynthia Connors and her husband James of New Hampshire, Mary Jason and her husband Reginald of Buzzards Bay, Ralph Cook and his wife Penny of CT; siblings, Charles F. “Sonny” Tucy, III; 18 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren. She was the mother of the late Kathleen A. Nelson and husband Kenneth A Nelson and sister of the late C. “Buddy” Paul Tucy, Charles F. (Sonny) Tucy, Ralph Tucy and Ruth Edson.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Funeral Service on Wednesday, August 30th at 11:00 a.m. at the Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home 40 MacArthur Blvd. Bourne, MA.
