David Montville

David J. Montville, beloved husband of Janet and father of Daniel, Cynthia, and Elizabeth, passed away at age 59 in his home in Monument Beach on Thursday morning, June 28th. Son of the late Emile J. Montville, David is also survived by his mother Theresa (LePage) Montville, his brother Michael Montville, and many nieces and nephews. Dave was raised in Uxbridge,MA and spent his summers on Onset Island. Onset Island was one of his favorite places, where he went frequently with his family and friends. Dave attended Blackstone Valley Regional Vocational High School and was a 1971 graduate. Dave continued on to college at Fitchburg State earning a Bachelor's Degree in Education in 1981. Dave was an active member of the Gavaleer Society at Fitchburg State where he made innumerable lifelong friends, including his brother, Michael Burdette of Lunenburg. Dave worked for more than twenty years at the Bourne Water District and was a much loved fixture throughout the town of Bourne, where he knew and befriended many. As a father, husband, and unwavering friend, he was loved by many, and will be greatly missed. As Dave would have wished, the family requests “come as you are,” casual attire. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the VNA Hospice of Cape Cod 434 Rte 134 Suite D3 South Dennis MA 02660 (www.vnacapecod.org) in David’s name.
