

Donald was born and raised in North Cambridge, attending local schools. He joined the Air Force as soon as he was able and served during the Korean War from 1951-1955. Throughout his life, Don was a self-made man. A tremendous mechanic, he owned and operated Don’s Arco in Brockton until he retired at age 50.
Don loved fishing and boating on his 32’ Silverton “Lucky Rose” and 34’ Silverton “Lucky Rose II” (Which he lost during Hurricane Bob in 1991) especially when he went tuna fishing with his son Don Jr. One of his proudest moments was landing a 110lb. Sailfish after a two hour battle while vacationing in Acapulco. He also enjoyed spending time at the VFW with his friends and loved New England Patriots football.
Don is survived by his beloved wife, Rose, whom he cherished. His children Deborah Taranto of Brockton, Donald Watt Jr. of Florida and James Watt of Mashpee. Loving brother to Frank Watt of Melrose, Formerly wed to Claire Flynn of Hanover, cousin to Mary Ellen Alonzo, Frannie Peters and Judy Deemys whom he had grown up with, along with many friends.
Calling Hours will be held with the family from 2pm-4pm and 7pm-9pm on Monday, February 13, at the Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home located at 40 MacArthur Blvd in Bourne. All are welcome.
A Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, February 14, at 11:00am in St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church located at 841 Shore Rd. in Pocasset. Burial to follow in the Massachusetts National Cemetery.
