Born in Boston, MA, a daughter of the late Joseph and Marie (Henke) Fandrey. She was a graduate of the Newton South High School.
Mrs. Luce had worked as an Administrative Assistant for both the Town of Bourne and also the Massachusetts Maritime Academy for many years.
Dot was a creative and talented seamstress, making sport coats, pants, dresses, winter coats and snow suits. She was equally talented in the kitchen and was comfortable at creating full course meals as well as fancy desserts and pastries. She loved art and was talented at portraits in pastels which gained her a number of “Blue Ribbons” from various art shows. Dot loved music and could crank out a tune after hearing it just once. A “scratch musician” if you will she had a very talented sound system in her head.
Last but not least, Dot could grow anything from a cutting and would graft new sprouts to existing fruit trees. She even grew banana trees in Buzzards Bay.
She is survived by a son, Jeffrey P. Luce and his wife Linda of Manomet, MA; a daughter, Janet M. Mullarkey of Buzzards Bay; 3 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Joan Donlan and mother-in-law of the late Thomas Mullarkey.
