Mr. Freeman was born on March 5, 1952, at the USAF Hospital in Biloxi, Mississippi, to Elynor Marie (Sharples) and Edward Joseph Freeman. The family eventually moved to Framingham, Massachusetts, where Michael grew up with his two sisters and attended Framingham High School. Michael has lived in Pocasset for the last 37 years with his wife Michelle where they spent many years sailing their Bullseye out of Hen Cove, around Bassetts Island, and in and out of Pocasset Harbor into Buzzards Bay.
Known as a kind and gentle person, Michael was an accomplished guitarist who was able to realize his dream of making his living as a professional musician. He taught guitar at various music stores on the Upper Cape and eventually worked as a freelance guitar instructor with a large and diverse roster of students both young and old. He played guitar with various bands on the Cape before finding his place in The Moonlighters Band, a band he would play with for over 30 years forging bonds of close and lasting friendship with his fellow bandmates.
Mr. Freeman will be deeply mourned and greatly missed by his loving family, his bandmates and his many friends. Michael is survived by his wife Michelle; his two sons, Justin and his partner Joyce, and Christopher and his partner Kim; and his two sisters, Diane and her husband Bob Lamontagne and his niece Danielle, and Sandy and his nephew Jonathan and niece Julia.
Edward Michael Freeman, age 70, of Pocasset, Massachusetts passed away on Tuesday, December 6, 2022.
