

Eleanor Rose (O’Neil) Copley ,95, of Brewster, MA., Boynton Beach, FL., and former longtime resident of Franklin MA., passed away peacefully on February 4 at the Cape Cod Hospital. Eleanor was born in Medford, MA. on September 4, 1926, to Helen R. (Carney) and Edward L. O’Neil of Lowell, MA where she was raised. She is preceded by her parents and siblings; Edward O’Neil, Veronica O’Neil, and Mary Jo (O’Neil) Leach. Eleanor leaves behind many Nieces and Nephews.
Eleanor was the devoted wife of 66 yrs. to Thomas J. Copley, Jr. who passed in 2017 and the loving mother to her four children Roseanne Orsi, Thomas J. Copley III, John F. Copley and Teresa Burr and husband Philip. She was known affectionately as Nana to her four Grandchildren; Kathryn Ward and husband Jason, Elyse Burritt and husband Steve, Brittany Burr, and Marlee Burr. Great-Grandmother to Kason Ward, and Trinity Burritt.
Eleanor married the love of her life on May 5, 1951, moved to Franklin where they raised their family. She worked for over 27 years for the Town of Franklin in the DPW dept. and was the Assistant Town Clerk until her retirement in 1991 when they moved to their home in Brewster MA. and spent winters at their home in Boynton Beach, Fl.
Eleanor loved spending time at the ocean. She enjoyed reading, sewing, golfing, gardening, and was an avid Red Sox fan. Most of all she loved spending time with her family.
Visitation and Services will be held on Feb. 14th at Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home, 40 MacArthur Blvd. Bourne MA. Visitation at 11:00am, Funeral service at 12:00pm followed by burial at Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne, MA.
